Regional qualifying FLL tournaments will be held throughout the state in January, and the Utah FLL State Championship will be held the last Saturday in January at the University of Utah. Dates, times and volunteer job descriptions are listed below.

- FLL State Championship at the University of Utah (Salt Lake City) – Teams must qualify at local tournament to participate.
Volunteer job descriptions

| Registration | Teams, volunteers and media are required to register at the "Registration/information" desk where the receptionist will confirm that each party receives their necessary packets and information. | All day |
| Usher/Floater | The event will require individuals to greet and steer guests to the registration/information tables. The ushers will need to monitor parking flow and assist spectators in navigating the building. | All day |
| Pit Manager | The Pit Manager's primary duty is to call teams to the queuing area, and make general announcements using a public address system if available. The Pit Announcer works in collaboration with the Field Managers and Team Queuing volunteers to facilitate adherence to team match schedule. | All day |
| Field Manager | Field Managers participate in field construction and maintenance; direct activity on the field to ensure smooth execution of the matches; play a critical role in ensuring smooth flow of match play and maintaining the pace of the event. Field Managers are also responsible for the flow of traffic and adherence to the Robot Design, Core Values and Project Judging areas. | All day |
| Team Queuer | The Lead Team Queuer is responsible for robot traffic between the Pit and the playing field. This individual trains Team Queuing volunteers and stages and positions teams in preparation for the start of matches. This position plays a critical role in ensuring smooth flow of match play and maintaining the pace of the event. | All day |
| Referee | Referees observe team matches, identify rule violations, and "call" them. Referees calculate the official score of the matches and participate in deliberations regarding contested calls. Referees work under the direction of the Head Referee. This is a critical role in ensuring smooth flow of match play and maintaining the pace of the event. | All day |
| Timekeeper | The Timekeeper coordinates with the Emcee on when to run the clock from the scoring table or at a separate location. The Time Keeper will reset the clock for each match and activate the buzzer at the close of each match. The Time Keeper serves as the Score Keeper's Assistant if needed and accessible. | All day |
| Scorekeeper/runner | Using tools provided by FIRST, the Score Keepers are responsible for recording points scored by teams as they occur during each game match. Score Keepers manage and operate the scoring and field control systems, input scores into the system from the Head Referee, print reports as needed and upload data onto the FIRST website as required. These individuals play a critical role in ensuring smooth flow of match play and maintaining the pace of the event. FIRST Headquarters will provide pre-event training for this position. The Head Referee will provide a score sheet, which the Score Runner will take after each match and bring to the Score Keeper to record in the field control system. | All day |
| Table Resetter | Volunteers repair and reset the playing field after each team match. They play a critical role in ensuring smooth flow of match play and maintaining pace of the event and safety on the field. | All day |
| Judge | Judges familiarize yourself with FLL judging rubrics and challenge materials. Attend training prior to the event. Judge teams at the event and determine top-ranked teams. | All day |
| Judge Assistant | Judge assistants manage teams to get lined up outside competition rooms and ensure that judging sessions are adhering to the judging schedule. | All day |
| Regional Event Host | The Regional Event host works with the Utah FLL organizing committee to secure a venue, recruit volunteers and coordinate a regional tournament for up to 30 teams. | Organizing Committee | Volunteer for the Utah FLL Organizing Committee and participate in monthly meetings as well as contribute in a number of ways, solicit sponsors, be a team liason, recruit partners, plan the Championship and much more!
