Vicki Farrar was astounded when she considered the impact of hospital acquired illnesses - 1.7 million infections a year resulting in 99,000 deaths, according to the centers for Disease Control. So when Farrar saw an opportunity to capitalize on an innovation, she grabbed it.
Farrar, a Park City lawyer who represents medical device and pharmaceutical companies, co-founded Catheter Connections this year with Robert Hitchcock, a University of Utah bioengineering professor with a 24-year track record of bringing new medical instruments to the marketplace. <<read more from the Salt Lake Tribune>>
