Q: What is the Accelerator?
The Accelerator is a University of Utah-TCO facility built to support product development of biotech and medical device start-ups. The facility provides the necessary resources, services and equipment to accelerate success.
The Accelerator is comprised of 10,000 sq. ft. of product development infrastructure supplying office space, laboratory space, a clean room, tools, equipment, and services necessary to conduct R&D, product development, and small scale manufacturing with the goal of reducing time to market and first sales.
This infrastructure reduces development timelines by 6-24 months by eliminating the need of the start-up to request increased funding required to begin business and product development by providing a space and tools necessary to conduct product development.

Q: How many companies can the Accelerator accommodate
There is space for 10 companies.
Q: What isn't the Accelerator?
The Accelerator IS NOT AN INCUBATOR. Incubators, be they university based or community based, typically provide Business Development services via business/marketing planning, entrepreneur access, and possibly office suites, business center, or conference rooms.
The University/TCO has its own incubator, VENTURE BENCH, with its suite of services to assist the inventor/small business with their needs such as:

- Grant Funding Assistance-SBIR/STTR, TCP, VIP, Microgrants, State COE
- Investment Funding-Kickstart
- Entrepreneur in Residence (EIR)
