Technology Venture Development USTAR Commercialization Grant
In an effort to bring innovative new technologies to market from Utah’s public colleges and universities, USTAR has launched the Technology Commercialization Grant (TCG) program. Derived from a $3 million allocation of American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funds, the USTAR TCG program will assist faculty at public research and regional institutions to prototype, test, assess markets, and commercialize new products and services in high-growth markets. In an effort to bring innovative new technologies to market from the University of Utah, researchers may receive up to $50,000 for a commercialization project. Requirements are:
1. A Completed Application (download excel application by clicking here)
2. A 1-page work plan with budget
3. A power point presentation (4 slides only) describing the research and/or technology and its commercialization potential.
Rolling submissions are now being accepted through February 28, 2010. Submit proposals to Keri Johnson by email at keri.johnson@utah.edu
The Vice President of Technology Venture Development will submit these proposals to the USTAR Governing Authority for their review and selection. Supplemental USTAR TCP grants are available through the University Research Office.
